ROLE: LEAD DESIGNER
STUDIO: REVOLUTION MESSAGING
In February 2017, Revolution Messaging created branding for a nonprofit seeking to empower young women ages 10-15. The goal was to create a logo mark that could be easily doodled and imagery that was accessible, unique, and a little badass.
Challenges for our team were: figuring out a system of branding that could be flexible as the organization grew and changed; addressing the entire spectrum of gender presentation (not alienating girls who identified as "tomboys" but not excluding girls who love playing dress-up); and finding unclaimed space in an incredibly saturated market. I led a team of one other designer and one copywriter to create this initial branding for Maverick, which has served as the basis for much of what they've done since.
